Juan Felipe Herrera

Chicano poet and writer Juan Felipe Herrera uses his work to reveal his evolution from a young migrant farm workers’ child to university professor. Herrera reads from his poetry books, Akrílica, Exiles of Desire, and Rebozos of Love. He discusses his use of Spanish and English in his poetry and how his unique use of politics and social issues broadens his writing and creates thought-provoking questions throughout his works of literature. A 2016 reading with Juan Felipe Herrera is also available in our Audio Archives.
