A poet, activist, and professor, Sonia Sanchez is a well-known member of the Black Arts Movement. She has been both a national and international lecturer on topics including African-American culture and literature, women’s liberation, and peace and racial justice. In this program, Sanchez reads poems in her unique style that is part chanting part scat singing.
