Peter Balakian reads from his 2010 book, Ziggurat, a contemplation on the effects of 9/11. Referencing the ancient Middle Eastern temple towers, the book includes a semi-autobiographical account of a mail runner in the early days of the World Trade Center in the 1970s, while looking at art, architecture, war and love.  Known for weaving history, trauma and personal stories throughout his poetry, this poet of Armenian descent won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for his poetry book, Ozone Journal. Guest host is former New Letters on the Air producer, Rebekah Presson Mosby.
