A 2015 MacArthur “Genius” Fellow, Ellen Bryant Voigt talks with fellow poet and professor, Michelle Boisseau, about her eighth book, Headwaters, winner of the 2014 Arthur Rense Poetry Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Voigt discusses her struggle to write again after working on her esteemed Poets’ Prize winner, Messenger: New and Selected Poems, 1976-2006, as well as the creation process, and her purposeful break from punctuation and form. Voigt also reads selections from both books.
