Richard Bausch, an acknowledged master of the short story form, is the author of thirteen novels and nine collections of stories. He is the recipient of both the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in the short story, and the REA Award for his “influence on the form.” His most recent novel is Playhouse (2023), from Alfred A. Knopf. He teaches in the writing program at Chapman University in Southern California.
